Channel surfing.

My latest faves are 2 books written by Gary Renard. The most recent is called, “Your Immortal reality” and the previous one had the interesting title of, “The Disappearance of The Universe Neither one of these books could be a considered a “channeled” work although they do deal with Gary's encounters with a couple of Ascended Masters who suddenly appeared before him to convey a message of quantum forgiveness.

The teachings of these ascended masters are a clarification of “A Course In Miracles” which has been around for many years. I’m not at all an expert on “the course” (usually abbreviated as ACIM) but have known of its existence for sometime. Previously, whenever I glanced at the course in the bookstore, it seemed hard to grasp and lacking in that clarity which usually attracts me to books of this type. Thankfully these new books have helped me to approach the course with a better understanding.

One thing that sets ACIM apart from many other sources is that it includes a “workbook” with 365 simple exercises, which can completed over the course of a year (though many folks take much longer to get thorough them)

As I’ve said, the message of all of these books is forgiveness and a radical non-duality. I don’t think I can really do justice to the ideas therein but will say that a big part of the workbook (and the course in general) is to start undoing the dreams of the ego and return to your true home. The entire universe that we see is but a dream, and that includes the “between-life” dream as well as the 3-dimensional world we experience. One similarity to the Seth books is that both deal with the all-of-time as being simultaneous. So all those lifetimes are really occurring right now and they influence each other. The past is just as fluid as the future. If something in your "past" changed, you wouldn't remember the "other" past because this "new" past would be the way its "always been"

The ACIM stuff deals with healing our (mostly unconscious) guilt and fear that results from the illusory separation from all-that-is (or “god”) The source of ACIM is allegedly Jesus (the Christ) and his message is forgiveness and oneness (non-duality.) These books make it a point to indicate that they are not about some kind of spiritual evolution or spiritualizing the universe. Rather, they deal with undoing the illusions of separation created by the ego to save countless lifetimes of struggle. That’s all I’ve got on those for now but hoping to actually “do” the ACIM workbook while slowly digesting the “Text” portion (which can be slow-going)

I haven’t seen any of those metaphysical movies that have come-out. The most recent being the Conversations With God Film. There’s a DVD called The Secret that looks pretty good and I’m hoping to get the Celestine Prophecy DVD also.

Some magazines I enjoy include:

This last one was where I heard about the book “This School called Planet Earth” by Summer Bacon who channels the departed Dr. James Martin Peebles.

I often find some good stuff at a yahoo group called “Just Channelings” which always has new postings of inspiring material. Like all channeled stuff, some of it speaks to me more than others. Bring the salt-shaker. Of course there are plenty of books out there about “how to channel” and I do believe that we all have access to that inner-knowing which transcends the materialist grasping of our programmed ego. The trick seems to be to get out of your own way so as to let the natural wisdom flow. I can’t say that I do it all the time but I’ve had those moments.

I’m just finishing a really cool book written by a slightly skeptical journalist who chronicles his adventures (and gradual awakening) with contemporary spiritual practices and shamanistic rituals (including some sacred botanicals) The author is Daniel Pinchbeck and the book is called: 2012 - The Return of Quetzalcoatl.

I’m feeling a pull towards the Celtic and pagan traditions lately so don’t be surprised if I get more into that kind of thing. There’s something there that resonates with me and I suppose it makes sense, as I am a “Euro-American,” that I might want to develop a sense of my spiritual roots rather than something like Native American or Hindu traditions which deal with the same concepts -but from different cultures. Of course, the idea of the shaman is common to countless cultures from Siberia to the British Isles to meso-America.

Some other stuff that looks cool, which I have either not yet purchased or not actually read yet.
